: MATERIAL PLANNER - 65-75K Dependent on experience.
Duties/Responsibilities
- -Analyses weekly vendor releases to ensure accuracy and transmission of data to the productive vendor base.
- -Follows up with productive materials vendors to ensure the timely delivery of productive materials to support manufacturing schedules.
- -Analyses the daily production schedule to determine requirements and follows up to ensure availability or advises the Production Scheduler and Production Control Manager of any supply issues.
- -Maintains an accurate inventory on all productive materials by means of a regular cycle audit program. Investigate discrepancies and recommends corrective actions. Recommends adjustments to the Plant Controller and adjusts SAP inventory levels after approval is granted.
- -Informs Industrial Engineering and the Production Control Manager of any Bills of Material problems relating to significant unplanned material usage or pick up situations.
- -Maintains the local data location for supplier master records in SAP. Determines necessary minimum balances, purchase lot sizes and delivery frequencies and recommends changes to the Production Control Manager.
- -Maintains a current and detailed contact list for all parts and all vendors in the Materials M Drive.
- -Ensures that purchase contractors are established on a timely basis in order to maintain delivery of materials to support production on new components or raw materials. Requires regular interaction with Corporate Purchasing personnel.
- -Maintains NASS delivery rating information to support the monthly Corporate Vendor Delivery ratings process.
- -Authorizes premium shipment costs and arrange for transportation relating to the expedited movement of productive materials.
- -Ensures that vendor related costs are tracked and assigned back to the appropriate parties for any expediting costs associated with poor vendor performance.
- -Requisition materials and supplies through the non-production order process as necessary.
- -Acts as a fully trained back up to support the Master Production Planner.
- -Participate in Lean Enterprise initiatives within the department and support other departments in their initiatives.
- -Other duties as required.
Skills/Experience Required
Secondary School education required Materials Management Diploma or APICS Certification Material Control experience in an OE Automotive Tier 1 supplier environment Experience with ERP Systems - SAP specifically Experience with Microsoft Excel Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision Solid work ethic and able to handle stressful situations ethically Ability to work in fast paced, hands-on unionized environment with minimal direction
