Senior Legal Counsel

We are seeking a Lawyer with approximately 5 to 8 years of both real estate and corporate transactional experience to join our legal team. This is not a role for someone looking to sit on the sidelines or simply identify risks. We are looking for a lawyer who understands how to take on and facilitate transactions with little oversight, solve a wide variety of problems, and help drive business outcomes while appropriately managing risk.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience leading and negotiating sophisticated real estate transactions and will bring a practical, results-oriented and commercially minded approach to legal advice. Practiced at a respected law firm representing mid-sized entrepreneurial real estate owners, developers, investors, or private equity clients; Worked in-house with a real estate investment, development, or asset management company operating in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment. Draft, negotiate, and review purchase and sale agreements, development agreements,



joint venture agreements, leases, financing documents, easements, servicing agreements, and related transaction documents.

Support acquisitions, dispositions, financings, development projects, and asset management initiatives. Work closely with business leaders to identify risks, evaluate opportunities, and develop practical solutions that advance business objectives. Coordinate and manage external legal counsel when required.

Assist with corporate, governance, financing, and commercial matters across the organization as well as managing litigation and assisting on contracts and related matters. Partner with senior executives and operating teams on strategic initiatives and transactions. Provide timely, concise, and commercially focused legal advice.

Law degree and membership in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario. Approximately 5 to 8 years of relevant legal experience. Strong drafting, negotiation, deal management and leadership skills.

Exposure to corporate law, corporate governance, financing, or commercial transactions is a significant asset. Solid business acumen and the ability to balance legal risk with commercial objectives.
