PR 100: Foundations of Public Relations
Course Description
This survey course will introduce students to the theoretical and practical foundations of public relations/communications. Students will examine key theories, models and ethical principles that underpin the profession; the nature and composition of public relations as a career; and the major steps in the strategic public relations process.
Position Requirements
We are looking for a sessional lecturer with the following:
- Master’s degree in Journalism, Public Relations, or Communications preferred.
- Accreditation with CPRS and/or IABC an asset.
- Online teaching experience and a familiarity with UR Courses an asset.
This course will be delivered in an asynchronous, online format. Physical Demands Pay Grade Faculty Sessional Salary Range As per URFA Collective Agreement Status Term Work Hours To be determined (various sections are being offered)
