As a Pre-Employment Support Caseworker (PESP Caseworker), your primary role will be to help community members prepare for employment, access training and education opportunities, secure meaningful work, and develop long-term career pathways.
Acting as a career coach, and advocator, and community connector, you'll support individuals in identifying and overcoming barriers to employment while providing guidance on career planning, job readiness, and personal development. The role works collaboratively with the Pre-Employment Supports Program (PESP), Income Assistance, SASET, Seabird College, and the Health Department to ensure clients receive coordinated, holistic support that promotes employment success, self-sufficiency, and overall well-being. PESP - Community Employment and Readiness Support Help people identify and overcome barriers to employment. Support clients with career planning and goal setting. Provide information about education, training, and employment opportunities.
Assist clients in developing the skills needed to find and keep a job. Guide clients through employment, training, and educational programs. Connect clients with resources and services that can support their success.
Build relationships with local employers and identify job opportunities. Promote employment and training opportunities within the community.
Conduct community outreach to increase awareness of available supports.
Work closely with other PESP Support Workers to coordinate services. Ensure clients receive coordinated and consistent support across programs. Help community members achieve sustainable employment and long-term career success. *We are looking for a compassionate, community-minded professional who enjoys helping people succeed.

Degree in Social Services, Human Resources, or a related field is preferred.
Certification to offer Drivers Training is an asset. Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in employment counseling, career development, or a similar role, preferably within an Indigenous or community-focused organization. Familiarity with local labor market trends and understanding of employment opportunities within the region.
Experience in facilitating workshops and training sessions, with the ability to adapt content to meet the needs of various learning styles.
