As Manager, Engineering, Electric Generation, you will lead the engineering team responsible for the performance, reliability, and long‑term evolution of the City's generation assets. Leading and developing the Electric Generation Engineering team through coaching, mentorship, and technical guidance. Providing engineering oversight for gas turbines, steam systems, generators, and balance‑of‑plant equipment, including LM6000 units.

Supporting outage planning, execution, troubleshooting, and post‑outage engineering analysis. Driving improvements in plant reliability, availability, performance, and operational efficiency.



Leading engineering input into capital planning, lifecycle strategies, and major plant upgrades.

Evaluating legacy and up-to-date assets and advising how they fit within the City's long‑term generation strategy. Partnering with Operations, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and senior leadership on budgeting, modernization, and long‑term planning. You are a technically credible engineering leader who enjoys being close to the equipment, the people, and the decisions.

You bring strong experience in power generation, including gas turbines, along with a practical and analytical approach to problem‑solving and asset decision‑making. You are comfortable providing technical guidance, developing employees, collaborating across departments, and communicating recommendations to senior leaders. ~ A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; a master's degree is considered an asset. ~PMP designation is considered an asset. ~ Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver's Licence.
