Position Summary In this role, you’ll be responsible for stocking, rotating, and merchandising produce while maintaining the high standards our customers expect. A strong knowledge of produce — including seasonal availability, ripeness, quality, and proper storage — is highly preferred, as you’ll assist customers and ensure every item on the shelf meets our quality promise.

As a closing associate, you’ll also be responsible for completing the department’s closing checklist, including cleaning, organizing, and preparing the department for the next day. We’re passionate about offering the freshest, best-quality fruits and vegetables, and we’re looking for someone who shares that commitment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, takes pride in their work, enjoys working with fresh food, and can work independently to leave the department looking its best at the end of each day.

Job Structure

This is a part-time, hourly wage position.



Work schedule includes weekends and holidays as required. Paid vacation accrual at 4%.

Responsibilities

- Stock, rotate, and merchandise fresh produce according to Market Fresh standards.
- Inspect produce regularly for freshness, quality, ripeness, and presentation.
- Trim and prepare produce as required to maintain an attractive, fresh department.
- Maintain well-stocked, organized, and visually appealing displays throughout the shift.
- Assist customers with produce selections and provide knowledgeable, friendly service.
- Monitor product quality and remove damaged, spoiled, or unsellable items promptly.
- Follow proper handling, storage, and rotation procedures to minimize waste.
- Complete daily closing checklist and ensure all closing tasks are completed thoroughly.
- Clean and sanitize displays, equipment, floors, and work areas as required.
- Organize back-stock and ensure the department is properly prepared for the next day.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
- Work independently and efficiently while maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and presentation.
- Assist with deliveries and other Produce department duties as required.

Qualifications

- Previous produce experience is strongly preferred.
- Ability to perform physical work, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Robust attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, both independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual, and willing to take initiative.

Pay: From $17.95 per hour

Expected hours: 15.0 – 25.0 per week
