Key Responsibilities - Provide psychological/psychodiagnostics evaluations and risk assessments for individuals with severe mental illness found not criminally responsible or unfit to stand trial to inform the Ontario Review Board and treatment teams.
- Provide case consultation, training, and clinical supervision to staff to support adherence to forensic mental health best practices.
- Participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of evidence-based forensic programs within the Integrated Forensic Program.
- Coordinate, supervise, and validate data collection and dissemination.
- Conduct research and program evaluation activities, including grant proposals, presentations, publications, and dissemination of findings.
- Provide direct and indirect clinical care, including diagnostic and risk assessments, and evidence-based individual and group interventions for forensic populations.
- Function effectively as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
- Participate in academic activities, including supervision of psychology practicum students, residents, and psychology staff.
- Demonstrate leadership and collaboration through participation in corporate, program, and discipline-specific initiatives.
- Support continuous quality improvement, evidence-based practice, and teamwork.
- Maintain professional integrity through adherence to College and hospital standards, ethical guidelines, skilled practice requirements, documentation standards, and workload measurement expectations.
- Work in compliance with staff and patient/client safety policies, practices,
and procedures.
- Foster a workplace aligned with The Royal’s Anti-Racism, Harassment and Discrimination Free Workplace policy.
Qualifications - Doctorate from a CPA/APA Accredited Clinical Psychology Program - Registered or eligible to be registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario is mandatory, those in supervised practice will be considered.
- Mandatory Authorized areas of practice in Clinical Psychology and in Forensic Psychology.
- Mandatory Authorized client population: adults.
- Preference for additional Authorized areas of practice in Clinical Neuropsychology, and preference for Authorized client population with youth and seniors.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and competency with integration of psychiatric rehabilitation principles and practices of recovery-oriented treatments, as well as core correctional practices e.g.

- Demonstrated competency in delivering evidence-based treatment in both individual and group formats.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team setting and to communicate and collaborate in an inter-professional team context are essential.
- Maintain workload measurement and data collection as required and input into the workload measurement system on a regular basis.
- Experience in conducting forensic research and related program evaluation preferred.
Language
Requirements - English level A- is mandatory in oral expression, comprehension, reading and writing. Bilingual (French/English) is considered an asset.
