Etobicoke

We are looking for a mechanically inclined, detail-oriented Quality Control / PDI Technician to join our production team. This position is responsible for inspecting trucks throughout the production process, identifying quality issues before completion, documenting findings, and helping ensure every finished unit meets BIK Hydraulics' quality and safety standards.

This is a hands-on position suited to someone with experience in trucks, heavy equipment, hydraulics, mechanical systems, fabrication, automotive service, or industrial equipment.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform a minimum of three quality inspections on each truck while it is in production.
- Inspect completed work at different stages of production to identify defects, deficiencies, missing components, or workmanship concerns.
- Create and maintain a detailed list of Quality Team findings for each truck.
- Communicate inspection findings clearly to the Team Lead, Production Supervisor, and appropriate production personnel.
- Follow up on identified deficiencies and verify that required corrections have been completed.
- Inspect hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, fabrication, mounting, and truck-related components as required.
- Assist with final Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) before trucks are released.
- Move trucks within the facility or yard when required.
- Follow all instructions provided by the Team Lead and Production Supervisor to ensure work is completed efficiently.
- Meet production and project deadlines established by the Team Lead and Production Supervisor.
- Promptly report operational concerns, quality issues, or production problems so they can be resolved quickly.
- Work closely with production team members to improve quality and overall production efficiency.
- Participate in training to improve technical knowledge, inspection procedures, hydraulic knowledge, and understanding of BIK Hydraulics equipment.
- Learn and apply new techniques related to crane installation, hydraulic systems, and truck equipment.
- Document technical procedures, inspection findings,

and maintenance information when required.
- Perform daily 5S activities to keep the work area clean, organized, and ready for the following workday.
- Maintain a safe working environment and immediately report health and safety concerns.
- Properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Follow all BIK Hydraulics policies, procedures, safety requirements, and applicable regulations.
- Perform additional duties assigned by the Team Lead, Production Supervisor, or Director of Operations.

What We Are Looking For The ideal candidate is someone who has a strong eye for detail and is comfortable identifying problems rather than simply accepting completed work. You should be able to inspect a truck or piece of equipment and recognize issues such as:

- Hydraulic leaks or incorrect hose routing
- Loose or missing hardware
- Electrical or wiring concerns
- Damaged components
- Incomplete fabrication or assembly
- Poor workmanship or finishing
- Missing safety components, labels, guards, or hardware
- Items that do not meet BIK Hydraulics' quality expectations

Qualifications

- Previous experience in Quality Control, PDI, truck equipment, heavy equipment, hydraulics, automotive, mechanical assembly, fabrication, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems is a strong asset.
- Experience with trucks, cranes, PTO systems, outriggers, stabilizers, or truck-mounted equipment is an asset.
- Basic electrical knowledge and troubleshooting ability is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to identify quality and workmanship issues.

- Ability to document inspection findings clearly and accurately.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while also working closely with production personnel.
- Ability to follow established inspection procedures and production deadlines.
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing and truck-equipment environment.
- Valid driver's licence and ability to safely move trucks when required.

- Is organized and consistent when documenting inspection findings.
- Takes workplace safety and housekeeping seriously.
- Is interested in continuously learning about hydraulic systems, cranes, trucks, and BIK Hydraulics equipment.
