We are seeking a dedicated and organized Optometric Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our optometrists and ensuring a smooth operation within the practice. This position requires solid customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage various administrative tasks efficiently.
Duties
- Greet patients warmly and assist them with check-in and check-out processes.
- Schedule appointments and manage the appointment calendar effectively.
- Maintain accurate patient records and files, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with regulations.
- Assist with preliminary testing and gather patient history for the optometrist.
- Answer phone calls professionally, addressing inquiries or directing calls as necessary.
- Perform clerical duties such as filing, proofreading documents, and managing office supplies.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure a positive patient experience throughout their visit.
Requirements
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly demeanor.
- Proficient in phone etiquette and effective communication.
- Previous experience in an administrative role, preferably in a dental or medical office setting.
- Ability to handle clerical tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
- Familiarity with office procedures, including filing systems and record management.
- Experience as a medical or dental receptionist, or a similar front desk role is highly desirable.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
