Pay: C$85,000 to C$95,000 per year, plus performance bonus

About us
Hartwood Education Inc. supports a growing, owner-backed group of licensed child care centres in Ontario, including Akal Child Care in Brampton and The Learning Academy in Port Elgin. Pedagogy is the heart of what we do. Our programs are grounded in How Does Learning Happen? and inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, and we're looking for a leader who lives and breathes both.
The role
You'll be the pedagogical leader for two licensed centres and coach their Centre Supervisors. You'll live in the region between Brampton and Port Elgin and visit each centre weekly. You won't be doing this alone: you'll have direct access to ownership and Hartwood's central team for finance, bookkeeping, HR, and admin support, so you can focus on children, educators, and quality.
What you'll do
- Lead pedagogy across both centres, guided by HDLH's four foundations: belonging, well-being, engagement, and expression
- Deepen our Reggio-inspired practice: emergent curriculum, the environment as third teacher, and the image of the child as capable and competent
- Mentor Supervisors and educators in pedagogical documentation, observation, and reflective practice
- Own our program statements and make sure daily practice reflects them
- Design professional learning for educators, tied to the College of ECE's CPL requirements
- Keep both centres inspection-ready under the CCEYA and Ontario Regulation 137/15
- Support enrolment,
budgets, CWELCC reporting, and relationships with Peel Region and the County of Bruce
- Help open new centres as we grow
What you bring
- Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) in positive standing
- 5+ years as a director-approved Supervisor in Ontario
- 2+ years leading multiple sites or supervising other supervisors
- Deep, hands-on experience with the Reggio Emilia approach in a centre setting
- Strong command of How Does Learning Happen? and how it shapes a program statement
- A track record of mentoring educators through documentation and reflective practice
- Working knowledge of CWELCC funding and reporting
- Valid G licence and reliable vehicle
- Standard First Aid and CPR Level C, and a clear Vulnerable Sector Check
Nice to have
- Reggio Emilia study tour, certification, or formal professional learning
- Experience as a pedagogical leader, mentor, or ECE faculty member
What we offer
- C$85,000 to C$95,000 base, plus a 10 to 15% annual bonus
- Health and dental benefits
- Professional development budget for your own pedagogical learning
- Mileage at the CRA rate, plus overnight stays covered when needed
- Company phone and laptop
- Remote days when winter roads are unsafe
- Growth into a larger role as we add centres
To apply
Submit your resume, plus a short note on how you've brought Reggio and HDLH to life in a centre. A sample of pedagogical documentation you've created or guided is welcome.
We're an equal opportunity employer. We'll let everyone we interview know the outcome within 45 days.
Pay: $85,000.00-$95,000.00 per year
Benefits
- Dental care
- Flexible schedule
- Mileage reimbursement
- In office parking
