Replacement or New Position: Replacement Site: West Park Healthcare Centre Department: 2C- Stroke/Neuro Wage Range: $41.15 - $58.98 per hour (start rate in accordance with collective agreement) Shift: Days/Nights The role of the Registered Nurse is the promotion of health and the assessment of, the provision of care for and the treatment of health conditions by supportive, preventative, therapeutic, palliative and rehabilitative means in order to attain or maintain optimal function. Plan, manage, evaluate and coordinate comprehensive professional nursing care for patients and families within the context of an inter-professional practice and primary nursing model Use theoretical and empirical knowledge and the input of team members to plan and implement care for patients with stroke/neuroand their families Education of patients, family,
referring facilities and other community providers regarding care of patients with Stroke/Neuro Participate in inter-professional team care planning forums, inter-professional rounds and family conferences Provide leadership, supervision and mentorship to students and new staff on the unit related to Stroke/NeuroRehabilitation nursing Participate in professional, program and hospital-wide initiatives, including career development of self Compliance with and commitment to patient safety responsibilities and corresponding hospital plans, policies and procedures in order to ensure a safe environment for patients.
