Do you have a passion for nursing? We are seeking a motivated Registered Nurse with a dedication for delivering compassionate patient care to join our team at Ksyen Regional Hospital. In accordance with the established mission, vision, values and strategic priorities of Northern Health, the Registered Nurse practices in accordance with the standards of professional practice and code of ethics as outlined by the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) as well as within a patient and family-centered care model.

The Registered

Nurse (RN) practices in a variety of clinical settings, and working collaboratively with the interprofessional care team, provides direct patient care by assessing, planning, providing and evaluating nursing care to patients in an acute medical unit Shift Rotation/Hours of work Evenings, Nights, 07:00 to 19:00, 19:00 to 07:00 (rotating) Ksyen Regional Hospital The new Ksyen Regional Hospital welcomed its first patients on November 24, 2024. More than double the size of the previous hospital, the facility features 82 beds, private rooms, and is a centre for trauma services, orthopedic surgeries, pathology, radiology, clinical support, and pharmacy services. The hospital is also a training site for medical students in the Northern Medical Program.

The thriving community of Terrace is northern living at its best. Snow-capped mountains, pristine glacier-fed rivers, lakes and streams all add to the beauty of this community. There are nine elementary schools, four secondary schools, and Northwest Community College and a UNBC campus.

Graduation from an approved School of Nursing and registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) as a practicing RN registrant.

Ability to complete initial and ongoing patient assessments (clinical and diagnostic reasoning) and provide nursing care through appropriate/ prescribed technical, therapeutic, safety type interventions. Ability to communicate effectively with the patients, families/care givers, the public, medical staff and the members of the interprofessional team using verbal, written and computer communication means. Ability to integrate and evaluate pertinent data (from multiple sources) to problem-solve effectively.

Ability to promote resident-focused care that demonstrates care for and with residents and significant others, sensitive to diverse cultures and preferences, resident advocacy and social justice concerns. Ability to transmit information intended to instruct patients, families/care givers and others about topics essential to health care and well-being. Promotes staff morale, cooperation, assertiveness and risk-taking, creative planning for change and innovations, implementation of NH policies or other protocols, and ongoing professional development of self.

Integrates best practice from nursing and health-related disciplines and the humanities, arts and sciences disciplines into professional practice. Ability to operate related equipment including relevant computer applications.
