Woola is looking for an outgoing, driven and self-motivated New Business Development professional who genuinely enjoys meeting people, opening doors and creating opportunities across Metro Vancouver. This isn’t a role built around sitting behind a desk waiting for the phone to ring. Picking up the phone.
Find the buildings, companies and people Woola isn’t working with today. Understand where we can help. Work alongside our internal team to turn that opportunity into new business. Once that relationship is established, our operations and service teams are there to take care of it.
Woola provides HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Construction and Generator Services to commercial, residential and industrial clients throughout the Lower Mainland. We’re building Woola around the belief that great service starts with outstanding people. Our focus is strong relationships, clear communication, accountability and creating long-term partnerships with the customers and communities we serve.
As Woola continues to grow, we’re looking for someone who can help introduce our team to more people, more properties and more opportunities. Your primary focus will be creating new business. You’ll identify prospective customers, research companies and properties, find the right decision-makers and create opportunities through phone calls, email, LinkedIn, networking, referrals and face-to-face meetings.
This is not an account management position. Woola has an established team responsible for supporting and servicing our existing customers. You’ll have the independence to build your own network, organize your day and pursue opportunities while having the support of Woola’s estimating,
operations and leadership teams when needed.
Identify and pursue new commercial opportunities throughout Metro Vancouver. Build your own network of property managers, strata managers, facility managers, building owners, developers, general contractors and other commercial decision-makers. Pick up the phone and start conversations with people who may not know Woola yet.
Use phone, email, LinkedIn, networking and in-person outreach to generate opportunities. Book and attend introductory meetings, coffee meetings, property visits and service discussions. Attend industry events, networking functions and other opportunities to meet prospective customers.
Understand customer needs and identify where Woola’s Mechanical, Electrical, Power or Construction teams can help. Qualify opportunities based on customer needs, timing, location, service requirements and commercial potential. Help transition newly secured customers to the appropriate Woola team for ongoing service and support.
Maintain an organized pipeline in HubSpot, including contacts, calls, meetings, notes, tasks, opportunities and next steps. Share what you’re hearing in the market, including customer needs, competitor activity and emerging opportunities. Ultimately, turn new conversations into new customers and new business for Woola.
You enjoy having ownership over your day,
pipeline and results. You naturally want to understand businesses, buildings and people and where opportunities might exist. Previous experience in business development, outbound prospecting or another customer-facing role.
Experience using HubSpot or another CRM and an understanding of why consistent follow-up matters. Legal authorization to work in Canada.
EXPERIENCE THAT WOULD HELP Experience within commercial property or the trades industry would be an asset, particularly: HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, construction, generators or building maintenance. Working with property managers, strata managers, facility managers, developers, general contractors or commercial building owners. Existing relationships within the Metro Vancouver commercial property community.
Generating opportunities through networking and in-person prospecting. Introductory meetings and site visits generated. New customers and accounts secured. Maintaining an accurate and organized pipeline in HubSpot.
Salary plus performance-based incentives aligned with experience and results. Health, dental and vision coverage. Paid vacation and sick days. The freedom to build your network, organize your day and pursue opportunities while having the resources and support of Woola behind you.
Team events, social outings, company workouts and a culture built around working hard, performing at a high level and enjoying the people you work with. Someone who understands that the next great Woola customer might start with a phone call, an introduction, a coffee or simply having the confidence to walk up and say hello.
