Canadian Northern Economic Development Agency Selection process number Persons residing in Canada, and Canadian citizens and Permanent residents abroad. Established in August 2009, Canadian Northern Economic Development Agency (CanNor) is the only federal department with an exclusive mandate for the North. CanNor's vision is to develop a strong, diversified, sustainable and energetic economy for Northerners and Indigenous people, communities and businesses across Canada's three Territories.
As one of the smallest of the Government of Canada’s regional development agencies (less than 120 staff in total), CanNor provides a unique opportunity for individuals looking to be part of a small but mighty organization that leverages its nimbleness to tackle some serious, high-profile socio-economic issues. A pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions at the same group and level within the Canadian Northern Economic Development Agency (CanNor). The pool may be used to staff positions with various linguistic profiles, security requirements, conditions of employment, locations, and tenures, including indeterminate, term, acting, assignment, secondment and deployment.The resulting pool may also be used by other federal organizations to staff similar positions, subject to the approval of the hiring organization.
The incumbent and dependents* must obtain Health Canada medical clearance in accordance with the Isolated Posts and Government Housing Directive. *Includes incumbent’s spouse or common-law partner and child(ren). Willingness and ability to work overtime on short notice. Willingness and ability to on occasion, travel for work and/or training.
A secondary school diploma, or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
Experience in preparing reports, correspondence and/or briefing materials. Ability to communicate effectively in writing Language requirements (essential for the job) ASSET QUALIFICATIONSExperience Experience using the Grants and Contributions Information Management System. Persons self-identifying as Beneficiaries under the Nunavut Land Claims Agreement.
