Responsibilities include carpentry, trim work, drywall repairs, painting, caulking, and other construction-related tasks required to prepare homes for occupancy. This role helps ensure homes are delivered in excellent condition and that workmanship meets Activa’s quality standards.Key ResponsibilitiesSafety:Follow established safety procedures and use personal protective equipment as required.Participate in health and safety training and meetings.Ensure compliance with health and safety training and reporting requirementsWork together with co-workers, supervisors and trade partners to maintain a safe workplace and promote a positive safety culture on site.General:Support site operations through diligent and quality workmanship in various hands-on construction tasks including but not limited to:Finish carpentry and trim installation/adjustmentsDrywall repairs and patchingPainting, touch-ups and finishing workCaulking and finishing detailsDoor and hardware adjustmentsCabinet and millwork adjustmentsMinor flooring repairsOther miscellaneous construction activitiesComplete repairs and deficiency corrections identified through Quality Assurance inspections,



pre-delivery inspections, general site inspections, and TARION 30-Day forms.Maintain company-owned equipment, vehicles and tools in a protected, clean, and operational condition, and report any repair or replacement needs in a timely manner.Travel to multiple job sites within Waterloo Region may be requiredOther duties assigned within the spirit and scope of the role.Requirements3+ years of residential construction experience in a hands-on role involving carpentry, finishing work, deficiency repairs, renovations, or related construction activities.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, specifications, and site plans.Demonstrated knowledge of residential construction methods, and applicable local, provincial, and federal regulations, codes, and legislation.Basic ability to use a smartphone, access company email, navigate Microsoft applications, and complete required online training programs.Valid Class G driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel between construction sites if required.Health and Safety certifications, including First Aid, WHMIS, Working at Heights, and Elevated Lift, are considered assets.Personal AttributesAble to communicate competently and effectively in the English languageDemonstrates a strong commitment to workplace health and safety through consistent safe work practices.Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.Strong organizational and time management skillsAbility to prioritize work, manage time effectively, and complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision.The successful candidate will be required to produce a satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Judicial Matters Check in the original format and dated within one (1) month of the conditional offer from Activa group of companies.We support the goals of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
