RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Position summary
Department / Research Program: Gastroenterology
Under the supervision of Dr. Chen in the endoscopy unit at the RI-MUHC, the Respiratory Therapist (RT) participates in the CREATE, INTERCEPT and other projects in the Gastroenterology division. The incumbent is responsible for supporting the successful conduct of clinical research studies. The incumbent will have to collaborate with investigators and health care teams to assume responsibility for the overall patient management and coordination of several clinical studies at the RI-MUHC
General Duties
- Liaises with team members and entities implicated in the research project on a variety of subjects, such as communications, reporting and organization of meetings,
- Supports research activities directly related to the research project such as literature reviews, grant preparation, scientific reports, and preparation of ethics review board documents and contracts,
- Performs other duties (administrative) directly related to the research project as required or assigned by the project leader,
- Participates and contributes in strategic management activities,
- Assesses patients for protocol eligibility through personal interviews and/or medical record review in in-patient and out-patient settings,
- Maintains, completes and updates concomitant and adverse event logs and questionnaires and protocol specific source documentation,
- Completes patient charting accordingly,
- Administers sedation and analgesia as related to study protocol,
- Processes and ships samples according to clinical protocol and manuals,
- Verifies medication compliance and patient diaries,
- Provides coordination of all aspects of data collection and source documentation,

Education / Experience
Education: Diploma of College Studies
Field of Study: Respiratory and Anesthesia Technology
Other education considered an asset for this position: Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)
Work Experience: Minimum of two (2) year experience in a hospital/clinical setting is required

Required Skills
- Advanced knowledge of oral and written French is required.
- An advanced knowledge of oral and written English is required,
as the position requires regular and complex contact with researchers or international students who are exclusively proficient in English. The position also requires complex writing or in-depth analysis of documents in English related to a research project.
Additional information Status: Temporary, full time (35-hour workweek)
Pay Scale: 45,518.20$ - 84,484.40$. Commensurate with education and experience
Work Shift: Monday to Friday 8:00am to 4:00pm.
Other: Also Open to Part-Time : Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 8:00am to 4:00pm
Work Site: : Glen Site, 1001 Decarie Blvd.
