Title: Reuse Technician
Location: 220 John St, Barrie ON, L4N 2L2
Shift time: 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM
Position Status: Permanent Full-Time

Position Summary
We are seeking a Reuse Technician to join our Barrie team. In this role, you will be responsible for the inspection, testing, configuration, troubleshooting, repair, and parts harvesting of electronic equipment, while ensuring accurate inventory control and certified data destruction activities. You will play a key role in evaluating and processing electronic devices for reuse, resale, component recovery, or recycling.
The position also involves the detailed removal of valuable components from mobile devices and other electronics, preparation of equipment for resale, and the safe handling and palletizing of materials in a fast-paced warehouse setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Sort, test, analyze, diagnose, incoming printers, mobiles devices and other electronic devices to ensure products are fully functional or harvested for parts.
- Inspect parts ensuring quality compliance
- Lifting and moving up to 40 lbs. regularly
- Diagnose and troubleshoot product faults, and adjust, replace, or repair.
- Install, remove and maintain various cell phone devices.
- Perform data sanitization and factory reset.
- Evaluate the operation of electronic components using the software provided
- Factory reset the mobile devices, printers and network equipment
- Data entry and inventory management experience
- Prepare reports and other documents to ensure accurate information and record keeping
- Unboxing and sorting equipment into correct classifications
Qualifications & Abilities
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 2 years of experience diagnosing, repairing, testing, or refurbishing electronic devices.
- Experience working with cell phones, tablets, laptops, printers, and other consumer electronics.
- Strong knowledge of Android, Apple iOS, Windows operating systems, and related hardware components.
- Experience performing hardware repairs, component replacement, software installation, device imaging, or factory resets.
- Ability to identify a wide variety of makes and models of mobile devices, computers, and electronic equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills with the ability to determine root causes of device failures.
- Experience with inventory management systems, data entry, and recordkeeping.
- A+ Certification or equivalent technical training is considered an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
- Flexible, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment.
Working Environment
- Work is performed in a warehouse and electronics processing environment.
- Regular standing, walking, bending, reaching, and repetitive hand movements throughout the shift.
- Frequent lifting, carrying, and moving of electronic equipment weighing up to 40 lbs.
- Exposure to warehouse equipment traffic, including forklifts and material handling equipment.
- Exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, dust,
and other environmental conditions typical of an industrial operation.
- Frequent handling of electronic devices, components, batteries, and related materials.
- Mandatory use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including CSA-approved safety footwear, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and other required protective equipment.
