Context

We are looking for a Senior Professional to lead the Roadway Design Team at Systra Canada

Missions/Main Duties

- Leading the design team in the preparation of designs, technical reports, contract plans, and documents required for the delivery of the Ministry of Transportation’s multi-year highway construction program.
- Design corridor alignments, intersections, detours, and two-way conversion geometries.
- Integrate utilities and stakeholder requirements into staging plans and ensure constructability.
- Monitor overall work progress and technical performance on projects to ensure timelines and targets are met.
- Provide mentorship, technical guidance, and oversight to engineers and technical staff on projects.
- Ensure corporate and client QA/QC practices are implemented on all projects.
- Maintain positive relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Coordinate with clients, approval agencies, utility companies, and contractors.
- Prepare proposals, project work plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Ensure adherence to design standards, policies, and procedures.




- Mentor and develop junior design staff.

Profile/Skills

- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and P.Eng. designation required.
- Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in roadway and highway design, and project management.
- Proven ability to lead design teams and prepare technical reports and contract documents.
- Proficient in highway design software (AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation).
- Solid understanding of QA/QC processes and design standards.
- Experience preparing project budgets, schedules, and proposals.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor junior staff and manage client relationships.
- Effective at coordinating with stakeholders, agencies, and contractors.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Experience with Ministry of Transportation projects is an asset.
