About the Role:
As a CBRE Second Class Operating Engineer, you will support the operation and maintenance of critical building and utility infrastructure across a large, complex environment.
This role is responsible for monitoring and operating central plant equipment while ensuring safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance.
What You’ll Do:
- Operate and monitor boilers, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, generators, and auxiliary systems.
- Conduct regular plant rounds, inspections, and equipment checks.
- Monitor system performance and respond to alarms and abnormal conditions.
- Troubleshoot operational issues and coordinate corrective maintenance activities.
- Maintain operational logs and regulatory documentation.
- Support preventative and predictive maintenance programs.
- Assist with plant shutdowns, start-ups, and commissioning activities.
- Ensure compliance with TSSA regulations and CBRE safety requirements.
- Participate in emergency response activities and rotational on-call schedules as required.

What You’ll Need:
- Ontario Second Class Operating Engineer Certificate.
- Experience in airport, transportation, healthcare, or mission-critical facilities.is preferred.
- Knowledge of energy optimization and sustainability initiatives.
- Familiarity with generator systems and electrical distribution infrastructure.
- 5 years of operating engineering experience in central utility plants, large commercial buildings, healthcare, industrial or institutional facilities.
- Strong understanding of boilers, chillers, HVAC systems, and associated plant equipment.
- Experience using BAS and CMMS systems.
- Strong communication and troubleshooting skills.
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in Canada without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future
