Secondary Occasional Teachers: Tech-Focused Hairstyling and Aesthetics (Cosmetology) The Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board (HWDSB) is committed to learning, equity, engagement and innovation. Proudly serving a community of approximately 50,000 students in the City of Hamilton and surrounding area, HWDSB operates across 84 elementary schools, 13 secondary schools and 1 Adult Learning Centre, in addition to providing support and service to approximately 8,800 staff members. We are currently hiring for Secondary Technical Education teachers specifically trained in cosmetology (Hairstyling and Aesthetics). Certified by the Ontario College of Teachers (in valuable standing).

Secondary

Teachers must hold Technology qualifications in Intermediate and Senior divisions. Skill sets, education, lived experiences, backgrounds and various work/volunteer experience that may be considered valuable to the position. Commitment to building inclusive and accessible learning and working environments where every student sees themselves reflected in the curriculum, classrooms, and schools. Availability and commitment to work a minimum of 10 full days per school year.

Additional Assets Additional

Intermediate and Senior teachable subjects.

Experience working with diverse communities, in high-priority schools, and/or abroad. Fluency in additional languages beyond English. Ability and willingness to contribute to a fulsome school community through participation in cocurricular activities, events and/or committees. Availability to work a minimum of 10 days/school year.

Hourly Rate

Daily rate of pay start at $289.47 (includes 4% vacation pay).



Individual wage for Long-Term Occasional work is based on related experience in the trade, which will determine your level of credit received on the salary grid. Interviews will conducted online through MS Teams on a rolling basis, based on qualified applicant submission.
