Davidson is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Assurance practice in Calgary, AB.
In this role, you will lead and support audit and review engagements for a diverse portfolio of private companies, not-for-profit organizations, and other owner‑managed businesses. You will work closely with managers and partners to deliver high‑quality assurance services, develop strong client relationships, and mentor junior team members. Plan engagements, assess risk, and design audit procedures to address identified risks and areas of concern. Prepare and review complex working papers, financial statements,
and supporting documentation in accordance with ASPE, ASNPO, and other applicable accounting standards. Analyze financial information, identify unusual transactions, and investigate accounting issues or variances.
Review the work of junior staff, providing coaching, training, and constructive feedback to support their development. Communicate audit findings, recommendations, and technical accounting matters to managers, partners, and clients. Assist clients with technical accounting issues, financial reporting requirements, and operational challenges.
Post‑secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration. CPA designation or successful completion of the CFE. Minimum 3‑5 years of public practice experience, with a strong focus on assurance engagements.
Strong knowledge of ASPE, ASNPO, CAS, and Canadian assurance standards.
Experience leading audits, reviews, and financial statement engagements from planning through completion. Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and project management skills.
