We are currently seeking a Senior Technologist to join our Calgary Studio to work on some of the most prominent long-term care and residential projects.
The Senior Architectural
Technologist is a senior technical leader who develops and coordinates detailed design and construction documentation for complex architectural projects. This role engages directly with clients, consultants, and authorities, supporting the full lifecycle of a project and contributing to the technical leadership of the studio. Translate design concepts into comprehensive design development and contract documentation.
Conduct advanced technical research and lead detailing development across project phases. Review and ensure compliance with building codes, bylaws, and QA/QC standards.
Project
Support + Coordination Manage project execution from start to finish, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, scope definition, resourcing, and profitability. Establish and adhere to office expectations for financial performance, staffing efficiency, and project milestones. Lead regular internal project meetings and communicate status updates to Operations and the Partner-in-Charge, at a minimum monthly.
Coordinate and oversee project activities, ensuring alignment with office Project Delivery processes, filing systems, and documentation standards.
Provide project status updates to the Partner in Charge or Project Manager. Liaise with clients, municipal officials, and regulatory agencies.
Attend site meetings and perform shop drawing reviews and contract administration duties. Ensure all work aligns with the firm’s Project Delivery standards, including proper use of filing systems, adherence to architectural procedures, and compliance with drawing and documentation protocols. Promote high standards of professionalism, accountability, and quality.
Lead by example in aligning with the firm’s project delivery practices, standards, and values. Actively contributes to the technical growth and knowledge sharing within the team. Able to work in a collaborative, in-office environment (100% in-office presence required to support direct team engagement and effective cross-functional coordination).
Architectural Technologist
Diploma or related discipline from a recognized institution. ~10+ years of experience in architectural practice. ~ Proficient in Revit and AutoCAD; familiarity with Revizto, Bluebeam, SketchUp, and Navisworks is an asset. ~ Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and contribute to project delivery goals.
