Job Title: Senior Data Engineer Edmonton, AB (Remote - Onsite meetings may occur approximately 3-4 times per fiscal month) Client: Public Sector Pay Rate: $80 - $100/hr [CAD] We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to provide development, operational support, and continuous improvement services for an enterprise Data Management Platform . The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, monitoring, troubleshooting, maintaining, and enhancing Talend-based integration solutions supporting critical business applications, data exchanges, analytics, and reporting. This is a hands-on technical role requiring strong Talend and SQL development skills , along with a service-oriented approach to platform operations, including job scheduling, monitoring, error handling, incident resolution, and production support.

Post-secondary degree, diploma, or certificate in Computer Science or a related field . Minimum 3 years of experience designing, developing, testing, and supporting enterprise integration solutions using Talend Studio . Minimum 3 years of experience installing, configuring, supporting, and troubleshooting Talend Remote Engines, Job Servers, and Talend runtime infrastructure .

Minimum 4 years of experience working within a mature Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) using Git, code reviews, CI/CD pipelines, testing, release management, documentation, and change management. Minimum 1 year of experience using AI for code generation, data analysis, automation, and productivity enhancement in data engineering workflows. Minimum 6 years of hands-on experience performing business requirement analysis related to data manipulation, transformation, cleansing, and wrangling.

Minimum 6 years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server , including database design, optimization, and administration.



Minimum 2 years of experience building scalable ETL pipelines , implementing data quality practices, and cloud integration using Talend. Minimum 3 years of experience with message queuing technologies , such as ActiveMQ and Azure Service Bus.

Minimum 1 year of experience working with ServiceNow and Azure-based Data Management Platform integrations . Design, develop, test, and deploy Talend integration jobs, services, APIs, and reusable components . Develop enterprise ETL/ELT solutions integrating data across databases, files, APIs, cloud platforms, and enterprise applications.

Translate business and data requirements into technical designs, data mappings, transformation logic, and reconciliation processes. Build reusable, parameterized, and setting-aware integrations across development, testing, and production environments.

Support Talend Remote

Engines, Job Servers, and runtime infrastructure. Investigate and resolve integration issues, production incidents, data-load failures, and performance bottlenecks. Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring issues.

Support production releases, platform upgrades, patching, configuration, and environment maintenance. Work with infrastructure teams, vendors, data engineers, architects, application teams, and business stakeholders to resolve integration and platform issues. Participate in solution design, estimation, release planning, testing, documentation, and change management activities.

Utilize AI and automation tools to improve data engineering workflows, including pipeline development, testing, monitoring, documentation, code generation, optimization, and review. Follow established SDLC, Git-based source control, code review, CI/CD, testing, release management, and governance processes . #
