As a Senior Geologist reporting to the Manager of Geological Engineering, you will enhance pit slope designs, mitigate risks, and assess post-mining stability hazards. This full-time position also includes teamwork with site personnel and regular field visits. Strong analytical skills and effective communication will be key to thriving in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and improve structural geology models for pit designs • Collaborate on field investigation plans and execution • Conduct field reviews and bench face mapping • Analyze pit wall stability monitoring data • Train and mentor junior geoscientists and engineers
Requirements: • Undergraduate degree in Geology or Geological Engineering • Seven years in a geology-focused role at open pit mines • Registered as a Professional Geoscientist with EGBC • Experience with sedimentary deposits, especially coal • Proficient in 3D modelling software
