Based out of the Electrical Division Edmonton (EDE) location, the Senior Mechanical Designer will report to the Engineering Manager.

The Senior Mechanical

Designer will be responsible for modifying, enhancing, and creating established standard & custom designs and parts for products. Design custom/semi-custom product assemblies to meet customer mechanical specification. Develop drawings to support assembly.

Assist Mechanical

Engineering efforts in product development process. Assist and help solve problems with other engineering personnel. Attend in-house and outside training sessions as required. Advanced drafting/CAD skills.

Proficient in use of Oracle, Word, Excel. Working knowledge of electrical design. In-depth knowledge of company policies and procedures, work instructions, ISO policies. In-depth knowledge of vendor products used in assemblies.

Ability to read and interpret electrical symbols, characters, and drawings. Ability to order materials electronically.



Familiarity with strengths of materials, steel and copper. Two (2) year diploma program in Electrical, Mechanical Technology or in a related area.

Minimum 5 years of experience in an Engineering/Designing role; CET is an asset. This is a permanent position. Immigration sponsorship is not typically available and will be considered only where supported by business needs and applicable legal requirements.

Temperature controlled working setting. Must be able to work from all types of ladders (step ladders, "A" frame ladders, and all-size extension ladders). Job requires working in an office/shop setting.

Working in front of a computer for the majority of the shift. Typing, punching or applying pressure to an object with fingers and palm.
