Position: Senior Neuro Physical Therapist (PT) Location: Private Home Schedule: Part time, 4 hours per week (flexible scheduling)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Neurological Physical Therapist (PT) for private, one-on-one gait and standing restoration therapy for an individual 20 months post-Spinal Cord Injury (C6 ASIA D).
The primary objectives are achieving independent standing balance and advancing toward functional, unassisted ambulation.
Key Responsibilities
- Gait Restorative Training: Design and execute evidence-based gait training protocols (overground, task-specific body-weight support, and orthotic evaluation).
- Standing & Balance: Implement high-intensity motor learning strategies targeting independent standing balance, core activation, and lower-extremity recruitment.
- Functional Strengthening: Advanced lower-body kinetic chain strengthening, spasticity modulation, and dynamic balance work.
- Home Program Integration:
Direct and progress daily home exercise routines to maximize neuromuscular plasticity between therapist sessions.
Qualifications
- Licensed Physical Therapist (PT) in positive standing.
- Specialization: Demonstrated expertise in neurological physical therapy (NCS preferred) with extensive experience in incomplete cervical spinal cord injury (ASIA D).
- Clinical Knowledge: Proven success with locomotor training, neuroplasticity-based interventions, motor recovery strategies, and orthotics/gait aids.
Hours & Compensation
- Hours: 4 hours per week (flexible: two 2-hour sessions recommended).
- Compensation: Competitive hourly rate commensurate with experience.
