MTO is recruiting a number of Senior Project Managers to support construction of Highway 69 between Parry Sound and Sudbury. Highway 69 is a transformative transportation project that is enhancing one of Ontario's most important trade and travel corridors.
The remaining four-laning work presents exciting engineering challenges,including major interchange construction, current bridges, innovative contract delivery approaches, and environmentally sensitive design solutions. Please note that this competition is for two permanent positions and the successful candidates can work out of one of the following office locations: ~3767 Highway 69 South, Sudbury ~Initiate and manage a variety of medium to complex preliminary and detailed design highway improvement projects; Direct the activities of multi-disciplinary staff on transportation projects, monitoring work outputs and technical soundness to ensure project goals are obtained; Liaise and work with ministry staff, senior management, First Nations, stakeholders, agencies, municipalities, developers, consultants and the public; Resolve planning and engineering issues.
Transportation
Planning and Highways Design You have knowledge of civil engineering theories, principles, and practices related to transportation planning, highway engineering design, and construction. You have knowledge of geotechnical and structural design, to develop, analyze and recommend engineering designs for complex transportation projects. You can interpret and apply functionally-related provincial and federal legislation, ministry policies, procedures and standards to assess the accuracy and completion of proposals and designs, contract drawings and documents. #
