Your Opportunity:
As the Senior Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Chief Operating Officer and Operations Leadership Team in advancing Recovery Alberta's strategic priorities and operational goals. You will lead and coordinate complex, cross-functional initiatives that support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of recovery-oriented mental health, addiction, and correctional health services across the province. In this senior project leadership role, you will provide project governance, strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and operational coordination to ensure key organizational initiatives are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with Recovery Alberta's vision and strategic direction. Working closely with senior executives, government partners, clinical leaders, and operational teams, you will facilitate decision-making, manage risks, oversee working groups, and drive organizational change that improves outcomes for Albertans. This position requires a collaborative and strategic leader with exceptional project management, communication, and relationship-building skills. The successful candidate will thrive in a dynamic healthcare environment, balancing competing priorities while leading initiatives that support the transformation and delivery of accessible, patient-centered mental health and addiction services throughout Alberta.

The Senior Project Manager will lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex, high-impact initiatives that support Recovery Alberta's strategic priorities and operational objectives. Working closely with senior leaders, clinical teams, government partners, and key stakeholders, you will drive projects that enhance service delivery and advance recovery-oriented mental health, addiction, and correctional health services across the province.
The Senior Project Manager will provide leadership in project governance, strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, risk management, change management, and performance monitoring to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with organizational goals. You will facilitate collaboration across diverse teams, establish effective governance structures, and provide strategic recommendations to support informed decision-making and successful outcomes. The successful candidate is a collaborative and results-driven leader with strong project management expertise, exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, and the ability to navigate complex priorities in a dynamic healthcare environment. Through effective leadership and partnership, you will contribute to transformational initiatives that improve operational effectiveness, strengthen service delivery, and enhance outcomes for Albertans.

Required Qualifications: Undergraduate degree in social sciences, health profession, management and or business is required. Certification/education in:
Project management Change management Quality improvement Business or Healthcare Administration Professional designation in Project Management (e.g. Project Management Professional designation) Prosci certified AIW, Lean or Six Sigma certified Health professional designation and registration with the appropriate college if applicable A minimum of five years’ experience in project management in a complex health care setting or an organization of significant size. A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development.
Additional Required Qualifications: The incumbent will possess a record of accomplishment in the following areas: Specialized expertise in planning methodologies, including quality improvement, project management and change management, Coordination experience in project planning, execution, reporting, monitoring and evaluation, Significant experience in problem solving, risk mitigation, concerns resolution, conflict resolution and negotiation, Leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with leading a team, making decisions, coaching and teaching, and inspiring and building confidence in others, Demonstrated ability to engage and foster relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, Effective communicator with solid organizational skills, influencing skills, interpersonal skills, client-focused orientation and commitment to providing quality services, Ability to develop and deliver education to transfer knowledge, Experience in formal report development, Demonstrated ability to facilitate significant change.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in the fields of addiction and/or mental health. Extensive knowledge of clinical areas, groups and professions and the processes that support changing clinical practice/processes. Master's degree in social sciences, health profession, management and/or business is preferred.
