Senior Property Accountant

North York, ON (in office)

$95,000-$105,000 base plus 10% bonus and great benefits

Our client is an organization where you join, grow, and stay for a while. People are tenured and they typically promote from within as they continue to grow. If you’re in residential property accounting and live in Toronto, North York, or the GTA, this is the role for you! They are in the North York office five days a week with summer hours and they even have an onsite gym.

The team is looking for a senior property accountant who has explicitly worked on property accounting for apartment buildings. That is the key requirement for this role - everything else can be trained.

Responsibilities:

- Review monthly accounting packages from third party residential property management including but not limited to rent roll, accruals, accounts receivable and property management fees
- Prepare monthly financial results for the commercial portfolio and assist with review of monthly accounting process




- Key player in financial system enhancements, improvements and implementations
- Develop and enhance current accounting templates and create efficiencies to improve reporting
- Assist with commercial and residential budgets as required
- Support the controller with financial system administrative duties and controls

Responsibilities:

- Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant work experience in accounting, real-estate experience is an asset
- University degree in business or related field
- Strong understanding of accounting concepts
- Proficient in Microsoft excel including organizing and manipulating data and creating templates
- Experience with Yardi considered an asset
