Coaldale
Detachment Services Assistants provide administrative and operational support to police members and others at the detachment. They also provide assistance and information to the public. Coaldale and Picture Butte are welcoming southern Alberta communities located near Lethbridge. Coaldale is a growing town with easy access to urban amenities, while Picture Butte offers a close-knit rural community atmosphere.
The Picture Butte
Detachment functions as a satellite office, providing services within the broader area. In this position, there may be brief periods working alone while police members are on patrol or otherwise away. Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM.
Possession of a valid Class 5 (or equivalent) driver’s license Willingness and ability to work in a policing environment where exposure to sensitive or distressing investigative material may occur Willingness and ability to work overtime Willingness and ability to travel for work or training Successful completion of two years of secondary school, or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience Experience providing clerical support services Experience with data entry and maintenance Experience providing service to internal or external clients, via telephone, in-person or by e-mail Ability to communicate effectively in writing Language requirements (essential for the job)
