Location: Powell River/qathet Regional District
Schedule: Monday - Friday, flexible schedule
Salary Or Wage: $36.10 per hour
Start Date: As soon as possible

List of Requirements
- Degree in a field appropriate to the position
- Three years of relevant experience
- Clear criminal record check
- Specialized knowledge of sexualized violence and abusive relationships
- Strong understanding of anti-oppression perspectives and approaches in relation to sexualized violence and abuse for all persons
- Experience working within a feminist and/or social justice organization
- High level of comfort and proficiency in public speaking
- Experience in curriculum development and facilitating workshops
- Understanding of cross-cultural and diversity issues and the ability and experience in supporting persons of all cultures and diverse backgrounds
- Valid BC driver’s license and access to a safe and reliable vehicle
- Valid first aid/CPR certification
List of Duties
The SAS Worker will focus on community outreach and engagement including prevention, education, and awareness-raising.
- Actively connect with possible referral sources to promote the SAS program
- Maintain familiarity and communication with community service agencies to facilitate appropriate referrals
- Provide services to more locations in qathet such as Texada Island, Lund, and Tla’amin Nation
- Develop and facilitate education programs and public education workshops for all ages within qathet including schools, professional teams, and the general community
- This is a temporary position which ends March 31, 2026.
- Ability to be flexible with days and times worked is an asset.
