Wilsons Mechanical is looking for a Sheet Metal Helper!

Are you self-motivated, professional, mechanically inclined, and a team player? Are you looking to get your start in the sheet metal trade? The ideal candidate will assist our sheet metal team with fabricating, assembling, installing, and repairing sheet metal products and equipment. If so, please apply!

Responsibilities:





- Assist with reading and interpreting blueprints to understand project specifications
- Measure, cut, bend, shape, and form metal components under the direction of a Sheet Metal Mechanic
- Help inspect and test assembled products to ensure they meet quality standards
- Work alongside other construction professionals such as plumbers and electricians
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Load and unload materials, prepare job sites, and keep work areas clean and organized

Qualifications:

- Experience in sheet metal, construction, or a related trade is an asset
- Basic understanding of blueprints and technical drawings is an asset
- Familiarity with welding techniques and equipment is an asset
- Ability to use a variety of hand tools
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team

The successful candidate will assist with fabricating, installing, maintaining, and repairing sheet metal products for a variety of residential and commercial air conditioning and refrigeration systems including but not limited to heat pumps, de/humidification systems, ventilation systems, air circulation systems, and self-contained rooftop units.



Our Sheet Metal Helper works closely with our Sheet Metal Mechanics and Sheet Metal Foreman to provide customers with excellent customer service for their entire experience. Experience is an asset.

Requirements:

- Interest in pursuing a sheet metal apprenticeship (asset)
- Occupational Health & Safety Certificate (preferred)
- WHMIS Certificate (preferred)
- First Aid (preferred)
- Working at heights training (preferred)
- Tools, safety gear, steel-toed boots, safety glasses

This job may be physically demanding and requires manual dexterity, bending, crouching, and kneeling. The selected candidate must possess a valid driver's license and clean drivers' abstract and pass a criminal background check.
