Director of Operations - Independent Medical Evaluations (IME) Build the operational engine behind a growing medical-legal organization MedMatch Recruitment is partnering with an established medical-legal services organization to recruit a strategic and results-driven Director of Operations . This highly visible leadership role will oversee operational performance across the organization’s Independent Medical Evaluation services. You will lead workflow optimization, technology and AI adoption, people management, and cross-functional alignment-creating more efficient, scalable systems without compromising quality or compliance.

Reporting directly to executive leadership, you will play a central role in translating business strategy into measurable operational results.

Operational

Excellence and Process Improvement Assess and continuously improve workflows across intake, scheduling, evaluation coordination, report production, quality assurance, and delivery. Establish and monitor KPIs and service-level agreements related to quality, productivity, turnaround times, and on-time delivery. Lead root-cause analysis and implement long-term solutions to recurring operational challenges.

Develop dashboards and reporting tools that provide leadership with real-time visibility into operational performance. Ensure systems and processes can support continued business growth and expansion. Lead the implementation and adoption of technology that enhances quality, efficiency, and scalability.

Work with software and IT vendors to optimize case-management systems and integrate new solutions into the existing technology environment. Evaluate the return on investment of technology and process-improvement initiatives. Ensure new tools are introduced responsibly and in alignment with quality, privacy, and compliance requirements.

Organizational

Alignment and Change Management Act as the operational link between clinical, administrative,



business development, finance, and executive teams. Lead change-management initiatives by clearly communicating objectives, training employees, and supporting the adoption of new processes and systems. Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, training resources, and onboarding programs.

Build a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and operational discipline. People and Administrative Leadership Lead employees across operations, administration, support services, and physician and healthcare professional assessor coordination. Oversee hiring, coaching, performance management, professional development, and succession planning.

Manage reporting schedules, resource allocation, and cross-functional coordination. Provide executive leadership with regular updates on operational performance, risks, priorities, and improvement initiatives. Collaborate with business development and finance to support growth targets and broader business-planning initiatives.

Business

Planning and Strategy Partner with executive leadership on annual and quarterly business planning. Forecast operational capacity based on business growth and the expansion of the evaluator and provider network. Support budgeting and resource planning for operations, staffing, and technology.

Ensure operational capabilities are aligned with the organization’s short- and long-term growth objectives. At least five years of progressive operations leadership experience, ideally within medical-legal services, Independent Medical Evaluations,



healthcare administration, legal services, or another regulated and deadline-driven environment. A demonstrated record of successfully redesigning workflows and leading process-improvement initiatives with measurable results.

Hands-on experience implementing generative AI tools or automation platforms within business operations, such as document generation, workflow automation, or AI-assisted review and quality assurance. Advanced ability to develop KPIs, analyze operational data, and create meaningful executive reporting. Solid business and financial acumen, with experience contributing to strategic planning, budgeting, or resource allocation.

Exceptional communication and stakeholder-management skills. Knowledge of Independent Medical Evaluation processes, terminology, and compliance requirements.

Experience with case-management systems, CRM platforms, or medical-legal documentation software.

Experience managing IT or software vendors and overseeing system integrations. Training or experience in Lean, Six Sigma, or another formal process-improvement methodology. A bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Operations Management, or a related discipline.

An MBA is considered an asset. Successful adoption of AI and automation tools that reduce manual effort and operating costs while maintaining quality and compliance. Reliable operational data that strengthens executive decision-making and company-wide business planning.
