Flash Electrical Contracting is hiring an experienced Journeyperson Electrician to take responsibility for their own electrical job site, supervise a small crew, and work alongside electricians and apprentices on the tools.

This is a hands-on leadership position. You will be responsible for running your assigned job site, directing your crew, leading meetings, completing site paperwork, and keeping the project moving safely and efficiently. Previous experience managing an electrical job site and supervising a crew is required.

We work on large construction projects throughout Saskatoon and need someone who can plan ahead, make sound decisions, and communicate clearly with their crew, management, general contractors, and other trades.

Responsibilities

- Run daily electrical site operations and take ownership of your crew’s progress, safety, and workmanship.
- Work on the tools while supervising electricians and apprentices.
- Plan work, assign tasks, set expectations, and follow up to ensure work is completed correctly and on schedule.
- Lead crew meetings, toolbox talks, and safety meetings, and attend site coordination meetings.
- Complete required site paperwork, including daily reports, timesheets, safety documentation, material requests, and progress updates.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
- Order and organize materials, tools, and equipment so the crew has what it needs.
- Coordinate work with general contractors, project management, and other trades.
- Track labour and progress, identify delays, and adjust daily plans as needed.
- Train and mentor apprentices, check their work, and provide clear direction.
- Ensure installations meet applicable electrical codes and quality standards.
- Identify and resolve site issues, and communicate changes or concerns promptly to management.

Required qualifications and experience

- Valid Journeyperson Electrician Certificate.
- Proven commercial electrical construction experience.




- Previous experience independently running an electrical job site and supervising a small crew.
- Ability to balance hands-on electrical work with site supervision and administrative responsibilities.
- Experience leading meetings and communicating project needs professionally.
- Ability to complete accurate paperwork and maintain organized site records.
- Solid planning skills, including organizing labour, ordering materials, and coordinating upcoming work.
- Ability to read drawings, troubleshoot problems, and make sound decisions with limited supervision.
- Experience teaching and supervising apprentices.
- Strong leadership skills, including giving clear instructions and holding crew members accountable.
- Strong knowledge of electrical codes and safe work practices.
- Valid driver’s licence.
- Ability to reliably commute to Saskatoon or relocate before starting.
- Ability to travel between project sites throughout Saskatoon.

Fall Arrest, Mobile Work Platform/Scissor Lift, and First Aid certifications are preferred.
