SolidWorks Operator / Drafter – ASME Inspection & Production Drawings
We are looking for an experienced SolidWorks Operator / Drafter to join our team.
In this role, you will be primarily responsible for using SolidWorks to create and maintain inspection and production drawings and providing technical support to our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and experience working with mechanical drawings and manufacturing processes.
Experience with ASME requirements and be responsible for the ASME shop inspections.

Responsibilities
Specific duties may include
- Create, modify, and maintain 2D and 3D drawings using SolidWorks.
- Produce detailed inspection and production drawings for manufacturing.
- Develop detailed design drawings and specifications for equipment's, and assemblies.
- Support manufacturing by providing technical information and resolving drawing-related issues.
- Review existing designs, identify problems, and determine methods for improvement.
- Assist with the design and development of equipment, processes, and components.
- Review drawings and specifications with customers, managers, engineers, inspectors, and shop personnel.
- Provide technical support to the manufacturing team during fabrication.
- Preform ASME shop inspections and be responsible for inspection-related drawings and documentation.
- Ensure drawings accurately reflect applicable specifications, dimensions, tolerances, and manufacturing requirements.
- Assist with revisions and maintain accurate drawing records and revision control.
- Take and record measurements using appropriate inspection and measuring equipment.
- Record, organize, and document technical data.
- Work closely with engineering, production, to resolve technical issues.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience using SolidWorks, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience creating mechanical, fabrication, inspection, and production drawings.
- Working knowledge of ASME standards and requirements is an asset.
- Previous experience supporting ASME shop inspections is strongly preferred.
- Ability to accurately use measuring tools including micrometers, calipers, and protractors.
- Strong mathematical and mechanical aptitude.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering and fabrication drawings.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a production environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Experience with macros and/or automation is an asset.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with engineers, inspectors, production staff, and management.
