Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge, Alberta, is excited to offer a rewarding prospect for a 1.0 FTE Sonographer I to join our dedicated team. As a Diagnostic Sonographer I, your responsibilities will include performing accurate sonographic examinations to investigate, document and provide information about pathology while applying critical thinking and collaboration with Radiologists, Cardiologists, fellow Sonographers and other medical support staff. As a Diagnostic Sonographer I, you will perform a variety of standardized and complex ultrasound services for the diagnosis and tracking of disease and pathology.

Your responsibilities include preparing the patient for examination, reviewing patient history, explaining procedures, obtaining ultrasound images of diagnostic quality, and takes initial action to resolve abnormal findings. Your work may include assisting Radiologists and Cardiologists, Perinatologists and other medical staff with special procedures where required.

Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic & Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT).

Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Healthcare

Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Canadian Registered Generalist

Sonographer (CRGS), Canadian Registered Cardiac Sonographer (CRCS). Must be able to work all scheduled shifts including on call.

Experience with pediatric patients is an asset. Student preceptor experience training ultrasound students is an asset. IV certification is an asset. #
