High School Educational Assistant – Specialized/Congregated Program

Location: Lindsay Thurber High School

32 hours weekly

October 5, 2026 to June 30, 2027

The successful candidate should be comfortable working with and supporting students with complex needs within a specialized program within a high school setting. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with a team to provide academic, social, and behavioural support to students in a specialized program environment.

Desirable qualifications and attributes

- Educational Assistant Certificate or equivalent education is an asset
- Training or experience in behaviour management (e.g., non-violent crisis intervention, SIVA) preferred Experience supporting students with complex behavioural needs in a school setting Calm, patient, and able to respond effectively in high-needs or escalated situations

Strong communication and teamwork skills

- Flexible, reliable, and able to support a variety of classroom and school-based activities Comfortable supporting personal care needs including lifting and toileting as required
