TALENT ACQUISITION SPECIALIST Alstar Group of Companies Ltd. has provided quality construction services to the oil and gas industry since 1969. Based in Calgary, with projects across Western Canada, we are leaders in turn-key current construction, maintenance, prefabrication, and modular construction services. We are seeking a proactive, collaborative Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our Human Resources Team at our Calgary Shop.

In an environment that is continually changing and improving, you will act as a key partner to our shop and operational supervisors—helping them formulate high-performing crews, plan workforce capacity, and execute full-cycle recruitment across all levels of the organization. Demonstrated success leveraging social media platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, etc.) Experience using Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), candidate databases, and Google Workspace / G-Suite tools.

Full-Cycle Recruitment & Sourcing Manage the end-to-end recruitment process for all shop, trade, hourly,



and salaried positions—from requisition intake and job posting to candidate screening, interviewing, and offer delivery. Develop and execute innovative candidate attraction strategies across job boards, industry networks, and trade-specific channels. Crew Formulation & Strategic Workforce Planning Partner directly with shop and project supervisors to analyze operational demands, evaluate skill-mix ratios, and strategically assemble balanced, high-performing crews.

Collaborate with leadership to forecast quarterly manpower needs and build active talent pipelines for upcoming project ramp-ups.

Media & Employer Branding ~ Maintain an active recruitment presence on social media channels to highlight company culture, promote career opportunities, and engage top-tier talent. Lead structured 30, 60, and 90-day check-ins with new hires and their supervisors to evaluate crew integration, identify training gaps, and drive long-term retention.

Supervisor

Coaching & Hiring Support Guide and coach hiring managers on behavioral interviewing techniques, selection criteria, and fair evaluation standards. Maintain accurate recruitment analytics (time-to-fill, candidate pipelines, source quality) within the ATS to continuously refine talent strategies. #
