Ammar’s Market is looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Stock, Inventory & Merchandising Associate to help keep our shelves stocked, inventory accurate, and store organized and welcoming.

This hands-on role includes receiving shipments, entering inventory into our POS system, organizing stock, and assisting customers. We’re also looking for someone who brings creative ideas for displays, promotions, bundles, and add-on purchases that attract customers and grow sales. The ideal candidate takes initiative and works with management to turn ideas into action.

Duties

- Receive and inspect incoming shipments, checking quantities and products against invoices or packing slips.
- Accurately enter received inventory and relevant product information into the POS system.
- Report shortages, damaged products, and delivery discrepancies to management.
- Stock shelves and organize storage areas, rotating products by expiry date.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and investigate discrepancies with management.
- Maintain accurate shelf labels and ensure displayed prices match the POS system.
- Create and maintain appealing displays, including seasonal features and complementary products placed together.
- Suggest promotions, bundles, and add-on opportunities that encourage customer visits and increase basket size.
- Identify slow-moving or approaching-expiry stock and recommend ways to improve sales and reduce waste.
- Work with management to implement approved promotions and monitor results.




- Safely operate pallet jacks and other stock-handling equipment; report equipment issues promptly.
- Keep storage areas, sales floors, and back-of-house spaces clean, organized, and safe.
- Assist customers with product locations and availability.
- Support cashiering during busy periods as needed.

Skills & Qualifications
- Retail, grocery, stocking, or receiving experience preferred.
- Basic computer skills and confidence learning POS and inventory systems.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and accuracy when entering quantities and product information.
- Ability to check deliveries against invoices and identify discrepancies.
- Friendly customer service and clear communication skills.
- Reliability and the ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.
- Creative thinking and an eye for attractive product displays.
- Ability to identify opportunities for promotions, bundles, and complementary purchases.
- Willingness to perform physical work, including lifting and moving stock, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Additional language skills are an asset.
- Merchandising or retail promotional experience is an asset.

Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
