Great Lakes Grain is seeking a motivated Summer Student Intern to join our team. Reporting to the General Manager, you will complete assigned grain projects, contribute to a variety of roles, build practical agricultural knowledge through firsthand experience, and explore career opportunities with Great Lakes Grain and AGRIS.

What will you be responsible for:

· Deliver an exceptional customer experience at every interaction.

· Execute assigned projects and activities.

· Gain an understanding of the Great Lakes Grain operations.

· Learn how market information and cash grain bids help patrons make decisions aligned with their marketing plans.

· Provide ongoing information and feedback to the General Manager and team members, including project updates, observations, and recommendations based on assigned work.

· Help establish the company as customers’ first choice for value-added grain marketing.

· Maintain and update project information and records daily.

· Support the company’s marketing and sales efforts by sharing information about prospects, problems, and opportunities.

· Perform administrative functions related to daily, monthly, and year-end processes.

· Complete required checklists and assist with balancing monthly inventories.

Requirements for this position:

· Currently enrolled in a university bachelor’s degree or college diploma program, preferably in agriculture or agri-business.

· Valuable written and oral communication skills.

· Experience in agriculture, grain marketing, sales, or origination is an asset.

· Demonstrated organizational and logical reasoning skills.

· Ability to travel as required to support farm-owner and branch needs across the Great Lakes Grain market.
