Shenn Way
House is for men who perpetuate violence and harm, who recognize it, and who want to change. This program provides safe, temporary housing and wraparound supports that enables men to engage in therapeutic interventions and take responsibility for their behaviour.
Support
Workers provide ongoing day to day support to the participants residing at Shenn Way House. Through the use of positive role modeling and effective communication skills, the Support Worker assists participants in taking responsibility for their behavior and living protected and meaningful lives. Ongoing monitoring of administrative files to ensure they are kept complete and up-to date Maintain accurate and timely data collection,
data entry and completion of any program assessments and surveys as directed Client Support Adapt services to meet the needs of diverse populations as per program policy Support participants to achieve goals as defined on their individual service plans Deliver services in accordance with program and agency policy and procedures Community Engagement Maintain positive relationships with community members (neighbors, visitors, etc) and report significant challenges/incidents to supervisor immediately Contribute to a positive culture by assisting and supporting colleagues as needed and encourage and teach others about the program’s operations Diploma or degree in a related human services field Strong communication and relationship building skills Able to work consistent awake overnight shifts Criminal record check and child intervention check General computer knowledge (Microsoft word, outlook, etc) A criminal record will not disqualify you from employment with us; The successful candidate must be able to work rotating shifts (including holidays, weekends, evening, and awake overnight shifts) and be available for a minimum of 4 shifts per month.
All shifts are awake shifts.
