Support Worker — Job DescriptionOverview

We are looking for a compassionate and dependable Support Worker to join our dedicated care team. In this role, you will provide essential assistance to individuals who require support with daily living, personal care, mobility, and overall well-being.

You will work across a variety of care settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and clients’ homes. Your role will be to encourage independence, maintain dignity, and provide respectful, person-centred care tailored to each individual’s needs. By offering reliable assistance, companionship, and emotional support, you will help create a safe, comfortable, and positive environment for the people in your care.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, grooming, and mobility, while promoting independence and dignity.
- Support clients with medication administration in accordance with prescribed instructions and established safety procedures.
- Prepare nutritious meals according to individual dietary requirements and provide feeding assistance when required.
- Monitor clients’ general health and well-being, report any changes or concerns, and provide appropriate support during recovery or periods of discomfort.
- Carry out light housekeeping duties, including cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a clean, organized, and safe living environment.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, including individuals living with dementia, disabilities, or conditions that may contribute to loneliness or social isolation.
- Assist clients with transfers, mobility, and lifting tasks while following safe handling practices to protect both clients and staff.




- Communicate effectively with clients, family members, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals regarding clients’ needs and well-being.

Qualifications and Skills
- Previous experience in assisted living, nursing homes, hospice care, home care, or a similar caregiving environment is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of basic patient care practices, caregiving techniques, medication support, and dementia care.
- Previous experience supporting seniors or individuals with physical or developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Ability to safely perform lifting, transfers, and other physically demanding duties when required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work respectfully with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Nursing, caregiving, or related certification and training is considered an asset but is not required.
- Willingness to learn, receive training, and develop caregiving skills on the job.
- Compassionate, patient, reliable, and responsible approach to supporting individuals with diverse needs.
- Ability to work proactively and maintain a positive, respectful attitude in a care-focused environment.

Pay: $75,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
