Playground is an internationally renowned gaming destination located a short 15-minute drive south of downtown Montreal, within the Mohawk territory of Kahnawake. We are currently expanding, unveiling current gaming floors, a luxurious hotel, and specialized dining options. We are seeking a highly professional and exceptionally diligent Surveillance Operator to join our dedicated team.
As a surveillance professional, you will play a crucial role in proactively identifying and mitigating potential security breaches, suspicious or unauthorized activities, and any situations that could compromise the safety and well‑being of our guests and staff. Among these responsibilities, you will conduct reviews and investigations into customer and staff claims, including theft, misconduct, aggressive behavior, and policy violations. You will be responsible for monitoring gaming and non‑gaming areas, verifying incident details, and providing accurate, unbiased reports to support internal decision‑making and protect the integrity of operations.
Shifts available Part‑time: Saturday and Sunday 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (Flex) Part‑time: Part‑time: Sunday & Monday 12:00 AM – 8:00 PM (Flex) The ideal candidate, while hired for part‑time shifts, must have flexible availability to effectively respond to emergency call‑outs. Flexible schedule options Discounts on food Comprehensive paid training Training expectations: Surveillance training is a comprehensive four‑week, full‑time program designed to prepare new team members for all operational aspects of the position. Training is completed on the schedule of a designated Surveillance Supervisor and includes structured instruction,
practical application, observation, and ongoing performance assessment.
Candidates should note that while they are applying for a specific shift, the four‑week training period may require them to work different hours in order to align with their designated trainer’s schedule and ensure full exposure to the position. Profile of the Ideal Surveillance Candidate The ideal candidate is a highly analytical professional who understands that Surveillance is a critical business function. They are fundamentally driven by a commitment to protecting company assets, ensuring regulatory compliance, and upholding the integrity of our operations.
Performance is defined by meticulous attention to detail, sound judgment under pressure, and absolute personal accountability.
Proactive Operational Monitoring: Vigilantly and meticulously monitor all gaming areas, Poker tables, cash handling zones, and EGD machine operations to proactively identify and analyze any procedural deviations, irregularities, or potential risks. Author clear, concise, and highly accurate incident reports in English. Grammar, spelling, and punctuation are essential, as these documents serve as official records for internal review and reference.
Collaborative Asset Protection:
Partner effectively with floor management teams and security to create a secure environment, acting as a key resource in the prevention or review of theft, cheating, aggression, or suspicious activities.
Thorough and Objective Investigations: Conduct impartial and meticulous video investigations to establish a clear, factual, and unbiased account of specific incidents. Learn, cultivate, and maintain an expert‑level understanding of all table games, payoffs, potential cheating methodologies, gaming strategies, and surveillance techniques to ensure effective and informed monitoring capabilities. While using our radios and office phones, Surveillance delivers clear, precise, and timely observations, advisements, and updates to Security and Management on the floor.
Communication between operators and leadership in the office is equally critical, requiring professionalism and accuracy, to ensure supervisors can respond decisively to developing situations.
Demonstrated Experience and Performance: 2 years minimum experience in a professional surveillance capacity, working in a gaming environment, or management role.
Experience in Poker, as well as an understanding of gaming operations, is an asset.
Professional Maturity and Emotional Intelligence: The ability to remain composed, objective, and effective under pressure.
Technical Proficiency: A strong command of modern surveillance systems and related technologies. A self‑directed professional who takes complete ownership of their responsibilities, is accountable for their performance, and is focused on solutions.
