Taproom/Brewery Worker
Wild Brewing Co. | Red Deer, AB
We're a small batch kombucha brewery and taproom in Red Deer, looking for a reliable, detail oriented person to join our production team. This is a hands-on role covering all aspects of the brewing process, and grows into fully owning production independently as you build skill and trust. If you take pride in seeing something through from start to finish, this is for you.
This is the full scope of working in a small brewery, you'll genuinely touch every part of how it runs, not just one piece of it.
Please note: we're only reviewing applications that include a short cover letter telling us why you want to work at a small kombucha brewery specifically. Generic applications without one won't be considered.
What you'll be doing:
- Making kombucha - flavouring, recipe prep, R&D;, etc.
- Transferring and carbonating product
- Kegging and canning
- Cleaning and sanitizing equipment, tanks, and production space. A big part of this job is cleaning.
- General brewery maintenance, including routine inspections of machinery and equipment, and applying basic mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor issues before they become bigger problems
- Basic production paperwork, batch logs,
and inventory
- Helping with occasional deliveries, as needed
- Covering the taproom counter and helping customers when needed, pouring, serving, sales, light cash/POS duties
What we're looking for:
- A true self-starter. This is the most significant quality for this role. You should be someone who looks around, sees what needs doing, and does it without being told
- Comfortable working alone and confident handling a shift solo, but equally comfortable working as part of a team when others are on shift with you. Both happen regularly here
- Comfortable lifting 50 lbs (kegs, flats) and working on your feet for a full shift
- Good attention to detail is imperative
- Reliable and honest, taking pride in the job even when no one's watching, including cleanup and closing tasks
- Previous experience in a brewery, or production facility is an asset
- Food Safety training is an asset
- Forklift experience is an asset
Details:
- Full-time, approximately 35 hrs/week
- $20–23/hr, based on experience, with room to grow as you take on more
Pay: $20.00-$23.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
