Our client, a well respected multi-disciplinary accounting firm in North York, is actively searching for a Tax Manager to join their growing team. You will work with a team of staff in servicing their existing client list, while helping to drive the growth of the firm through business development and special tax projects. Review corporate, personal and trust tax returns, tax forms and various tax elections Assist in the development and implementation of tax planning strategies for various clients Research various tax issues for tax planning and compliance and prepare concise and conclusive research memoranda Identify and implement tax planning opportunities, including tax reorganisations, estate plans, and post mortem tax planning Assist senior staff members in all aspects of corporate tax initiatives Maintain a current and high level of familiarity and understanding of tax codes, regulations,



and other technical information Engage in discussions and correspondence with various tax authorities to explain positions taken by clients and to determine reasons for assessed amounts Keep senior managers/partners apprised of the progress of assigned tasks; Present on specific tax topics internally and externally Provide guidance and support the development of junior members of the tax team Completion or near completion of In-Depth Tax program OR completed a Masters of Taxation program At least four years’ practical experience in a public accounting firm Exceptional technical skills Computer Skills: Solid knowledge of tax applications including Taxprep, Taxnet Pro, Tax Find, etc.
