Technical Business Analyst Salesforce Functional Consultant

Avocette is looking for a Technical Business Analyst / Salesforce Functional Consultant to lead discovery, define requirements and shape Salesforce solutions for clients. You will connect business needs with Salesforce capabilities, perform hands-on configuration where appropriate and work closely with developers to deliver solutions that are practical and maintainable. This role requires strong business analysis skills, a solid understanding of Salesforce and the confidence to guide clients through decisions throughout the delivery lifecycle.

What you will do

- Lead discovery workshops and interviews to understand business objectives, user needs and current processes.
- Document current and future business processes, identify gaps and recommend improvements supported by Salesforce capabilities.
- Translate business needs into transparent requirements, user stories, process flows and acceptance criteria.
- Assess requirements against standard Salesforce functionality and recommend configuration or enhancements based on business value and complexity.
- Configure Salesforce features such as custom objects, fields, validation rules, Flow, page layouts and permission sets where appropriate.
- Work with developers and solution architects to clarify requirements, review designs and resolve functional questions.
- Identify dependencies, risks and impacts across business processes, Salesforce configuration, data and integrations.
- Support data mapping and migration planning, including business rules, data quality and validation requirements.
- Develop test scenarios, support functional testing and coordinate UAT with clients and project teams.
- Manage requirement changes,



maintain traceability and help project teams assess the impact on scope and delivery.
- Prepare functional documentation, user guidance and training materials to support adoption and handover.
- Explain solution choices clearly, facilitate decisions and keep stakeholders aligned on requirements and expected outcomes.

What we are looking for

- Strong business analysis experience on client-facing technology implementation projects.
- Hands-on Salesforce configuration experience, including Flow, custom objects, validation rules and the security model.
- Ability to lead workshops, ask effective questions and turn complex or incomplete business needs into actionable requirements.
- Strong understanding of the Salesforce data model and the ability to discuss integrations and technical dependencies with developers.
- Experience creating user stories, acceptance criteria, process maps and functional specifications.
- Ability to assess standard Salesforce capabilities and recognize when a requirement needs custom development or further technical review.
- Experience supporting functional testing, UAT and business stakeholder sign-off.
- Clear writing and presentation skills, sound judgment and the confidence to challenge requirements constructively.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work collaboratively with clients, project managers and technical teams.

Nice to have

- Experience with Experience Cloud or OmniStudio.
- Knowledge of data migration, APIs, SQL or integration concepts.
- Experience supporting user training, change management and adoption.
- Salesforce Business Analyst, Administrator or Platform App Builder certification.
- Experience in consulting or delivering solutions across multiple client organizations.
- Azure DevOps experience.
