As a Tool & Die Maker, you will play a key role in maintaining, repairing, improving, and troubleshooting progressive dies that support production across the plant. You will help improve tooling reliability, reduce downtime, and increase Manufacturing capacity by working closely with Production and Maintenance teams.
Beyond maintaining tooling, you will help develop tool room capability by sharing knowledge, supporting apprentices, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen our Operations for the future. Maintain, troubleshoot, repair and improve progressive dies to support protected, reliable production and high Quality output. (Perform preventive maintenance, inspection, sharpening, rebuilding and restoration of production tooling. (Manufacture and modify die components using mills, lathes, grinders, drill presses and other tool room equipment. (Support die try outs and troubleshoot tooling issues on the production floor. Work closely with Production, Setup and Maintenance teams to minimize downtime and improve performance. (Verify dimensions, clearances and alignment using precision measuring equipment.
Ensure finished products meet quality requirements and specifications. (Maintain a clean, organized and Safe tool room environment and support continuous improvement initiatives. (Tool & Die Maker certification or equivalent experience. Minimum 5 years of experience maintaining and repairing progressive dies in a manufacturing environment.
Experience mentoring apprentices or less experienced team members is an asset. CAD/CAM and welding experience are assets. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may frequently lift, carry, push and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50 pounds, and heavier weights with proper equipment. The job may risk exposure to heat and/or cold, loud noise levels, vibration, and moving mechanical parts.
