The Aboriginal Mother Centre Society (AMCS) is a non-profit organization with a mission to support Aboriginal mothers and Aboriginal children by providing a nurturing environment and services that honour and respect their Aboriginal traditions and values. The Centre is dedicated to fostering resilience, promoting well-being and celebrating the strength and wisdom of their cultures.
The Transformational Housing (TH) at AMCS is a place where Aboriginal mothers, who are facing homelessness and/or have their child/ren in care of the Ministry, can come to stay in a supportive environment and attend programs that aid housing stabilization and healthier lifestyle choices. The women can rebuild their sense of self-worth and identity for a better future for themselves and their children.
As the need arises, the social worker will also be available for clients accessing housing support through the Community Engagement department. AMCS is dedicated to supporting Aboriginal families by providing cultural traditional services through a wholistic grassroots approach.
