Position: Underground Heavy Duty Mechanic (Beat Mechanic) Position Reports To: Underground Maintenance Supervisor The Beat Mechanic will be responsible for the inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance of our underground mobile mining equipment and to support safe and reliable operations ensuring all work is conducted safely and in accordance with industry standards and operational procedures.

Equipment Maintenance: Perform scheduled maintenance and inspections on underground heavy equipment to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety standards. Identify and diagnose mechanical issues in heavy equipment, using advanced diagnostic tools and techniques to pinpoint malfunctions and minimize downtime. Conduct repairs and component overhauls on underground equipment, including engines, hydraulic systems, transmissions, and braking systems,



ensuring all work is completed to manufacturer specifications.

Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures while performing maintenance and repairs, ensuring a safe work setting for yourself and your team. Maintain accurate records of all maintenance, repairs, and inspections performed.

Operational Efficiency: Collaborate with the operations and maintenance teams to ensure minimal disruption to production schedules by performing timely and efficient repairs. Safely operate and maintain a variety of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment required for the repair and maintenance of heavy underground machinery.
