The Underwriting

Assistant provides day-to-day administrative and operational support to the Underwriting team to facilitate the underwriting of profitable risks and ensure the accurate and timely processing of policy transactions. Through precise data entry, policy administration, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders, this role supports the progression of insurance policy decisions and contributes to new business opportunities. In this position, working closely with broker partners to deliver a high level of service is vital in supporting Global Aerospace's commitment to maintaining its position as an industry leader in aviation insurance.

This position is performed on a hybrid basis, in a standard office environment and remotely, in accordance with company policies and business requirements. During periods of high workload, peak business volumes, or other operationally busy periods, vacation requests may be subject to management review and approval based on business needs. Act as a liaison and provide administrative support to Underwriters, the Finance team Provide support to external brokers and clients to manage Global's policy quoting and issuance processes.





Input and manage data related to new business submissions with accuracy and efficiency. Process new and renewal aviation insurance business, including policy issuance, endorsements, and supporting premium calculations. Gather, develop, and maintain underwriting information, including submission data, loss run reports, and other documentation required to support the quotation process.

Prepare and issue insurance certificates in compliance with policy terms and regulatory requirements. Conduct compliance checks and review policies to ensure accuracy and adherence to company standards. Minimum 1-2 years experience with insurance administration, customer service, or a related field.

Customer service oriented with a strong interest or passion for the aviation industry. Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.

Education & Training: Canadian Adult Education Credential (CAEC), required. Relevant education, training or professional designations (e.g., CIP, CRM) in either Aviation and/or Insurance, considered an asset. Strong problem-solving skills, and able to resolve issues in a courteous, and customer-focused manner.

Adaptable, adaptable, and able to respond effectively to changing priorities to align with business needs. French language skills considered an asset.
